The episode will feature Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Former Chief Scientist, WHO and Former DG, ICMR, on ‘Global Health Leadership in an Era of Pandemics and Climate Change’ - A conversation on strengthening resilient health systems and global scientific collaboration.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan is a renowned paediatrician and global expert in tuberculosis and HIV research. She previously served as the Chief Scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO) and as Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India. With over four decades of experience in clinical care, research, and health policy, she has played a pivotal role in advancing global health research and strengthening public health systems. She currently serves as Chairperson of the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and continues to contribute to national and global initiatives on health, climate change, and nutrition security.

This session will provide valuable insights into the evolving global health landscape and the need for resilient public health systems in the face of pandemics, climate change, and emerging health challenges. The discussion will also highlight the importance of scientific collaboration, policy innovation, and strengthened healthcare infrastructure in safeguarding public health.
